So welcome to Aligned and Thriving, the best place to get the inspiration and support to turn your working life from a struggle to a success.  Have you ever felt exhausted at work? Wondered why you can't  focus amidst all of life's chaos? You're not alone. In fact, 50% of Australian workers reported feeling exhausted at the start of this year.   

But here's the good news. Aligned and thriving, we're here to change that narrative. I'm your host, Judith Bowtell. A former burnt out executive who used to yell at my psychologist when she suggested I slow down or be kinder to myself.

But then I had a midlife crisis and over more than a decade, I have worked with and learned from the hundreds of clients as their career development coach on how to incorporate work life balance, not as another thing to do on my to do list or something to achieve, but rather as a way of being a value to guide my life choices and motivate me to have things be better.

This show is for anyone who is struggling with having time for yourself among the multiple demands on you of work, family, caring for others, medical issues, community needs, and even the work of staying in touch in a digital age.  It took missing a promotion, a serious back injury, and a diagnosis of major depression to get my working life back into balance.

So this is for anyone who has seen the cracks in their life and wants to turn things around.

We are going to dive in deep about work life balance and take you beyond the self help books and quick fixes.  We're going to learn from mentors who have walked the talk and found their own way to long term work life balance.  Our mentors will include creative professionals who've done the tree change, teachers who now work for themselves, parents who embraced a new approach to family life, and many people who while stuck in the nine to five are still finding ways to make time for themselves and focus on what's most important.
